Hi everyone,
Just a quick note to let you know the newest things about the weekend.
GUMBO: Joseph has struck again. We've been sampling his new Seafood gumbo, made with shrimp and crab meat, and it's a winner. We've also got his chicken and pork gumbo back on the shelves and it's selling fast. Come in for a sample Friday or Saturday.
COLORADO PRODUCE: Austin Farms delivered today and we received some beautiful tomatoes, zucchini, nectarines, peaches, gala and honey crisp apples. I'm sorry to say that we didn't get any of that fabulous corn. I didn't get to ask them if it is done for the year but I'll keep trying. I loaded up on tomatoes and apples because you guys are maniacs! I love it that you love it. I'm hearing from you guys that our prices are better than any Farmer's Markets out there. I love hearing that! Come in this weekend for the best availability. Annie and Danae won't be working the Farmer's Market on Saturdays anymore so she'll be baking a lot of zucchini and banana breads for the weekend to have in the store. So, Friday and Saturday we'll have the store full of fresh baked goodies.
POPCORN FRIDAY: Tomorrow we'll have the popcorn popping again. Come in for some free samples and also some $1 bags of popcorn. Fresh out of the popper is absolutely fabulous. Bring the kids and enjoy!
MEAL DEAL: We've revamped the meal deal just a bit. If you spend $50 you can pick any frozen individual meal you want. Spend $75, pick any frozen mid sized meal you want and if you spend $100 you can pick any large sized dinner you want. This is while supplies last, no rainchecks.
MILK: We'll be loaded up with milk tomorrow morning by 10:30ish. We ordered 32 more gallons on top of our normal orders. My goal is to order enough to outdo you guys. More and more people are finding out about our great prices and it's showing. I'll keep ordering more as long as you guys keep buying. We love it, so keep it up.
APPLES & PEACHES: Okay, I hope this isn't too confusing. We are getting cases of apples and peaches from a new supplier along the western slope. Absolutely wonderful and great prices. The varieties will change from week to week. He doesn't have prices for cases of honey crisp apples yet, but he's also getting fresh picked pink ladies in the next couple of weeks. Maybe I'll have prices for these cases by this weekend's email. The list will be on the old website. Right now I don't have the list open until I get prices for the next week's shipment. Just check in in a couple of days and see if the info has been updated.
Now the part that I hope isn't confusing. Our Oregon friends are bringing down their fresh apples next month. I am posting that apple and pear list by this weekend. Their prices are extremely good. The cases are approximately 25 lbs. for only $26.00. These are wonderful year to year and lately the pears are fabulous too. They will be delivered mid-October but we'll need pre-payment as usual in cash or check. My email this weekend will confirm all the information and we'll begin taking orders.
Believe it or not, besides the grain sale going on right now, it won't be long and we'll be ordering Thanksgiving turkeys. I'll try not to get overwhelmed if you guys promise not to either. Come see us, the coffees on and we'll have something baked up for you.
Thanks for reading,
Donna
