Hello Everyone,
Hey, I have to start this note with a big thank you. Business has been
picking up again. We usually feel the after-holiday downtime but you are all
so wonderful and keep us going. It's still true that we have the best
customers in town!
We've got some yummy things to feed your family. When you need a night off
from cooking, or you need to run the kids across town and have no time to fix
dinner, we'd love to help you still have a family dinner hour. We've brought
back our spaghetti deluxe and have added a couple of soups. For those that
like a little kick, we've got our Italian sausage lasagna again too.
SOME MEAL IDEAS: Have you ever baked or grilled our sweet basil chicken just
to cut it up to put in a healthy green salad? The sweet basil flavor is
absolutely wonderful in a salad. We've also got our fully cooked chicken
which can be used for anything that sounds good. Slice into pieces to make a
chicken salad, or cut into bite size pieces to add to your chicken
quesadilla. You also could cook up the teriyaki marinaded chicken breasts,
make some rice and add a little teriyaki sauce to it and "voila" you've got a
wonderful meal.
DINNER DEAL: We are going to continue our dinner deal for another week. I'm
glad that it's helping so many of you with your grocery budget. If you spend
$50 on any groceries in the store, you can choose a free individual sized
meal. If you spend $75 you can pick a mid sized meal and if you spend $100
you pick a large sized meal. Come in and do your grocery shopping to get
these free meals.
VERITY FARMS INFO: I'd like to give you another Verity Farms fact. The Verity
farmers are held to very high standards to provide the quality crops and
meats they do. Did you know that their soils are cleansed and improved for
2-5 years and are tested below detectable limits for 304 known carcinogens
and chemical residues? They also only plant non-GMO (genetically modified
organism) seed and then the grains are tests at below detectable limits for
304 know carcinogens. Even federal "organic" grains are not required to meet
those standards. Just one more fact about the meats: the animals are never
given antibiotics, artificial hormones, growth promotants and never given
animal by-products. These are the reasons I feel so confident in selling
Verity products. There is just no one else out there that cares so much to be
so careful for our benefit. Oh, Verity sent us some coloring books for the
kids. They tell the story, explaining farming and make it fun for the kids to
learn. Please take as many as you'd like when you come into the store and
pass them around. I think the kids will enjoy coloring and you can help them
learn about good farming.
BREAD CLASS: Well, I'll keep holding classes as long as you all want to come.
I think I've got one opening for this Tuesday's class Jan 26th), and then
I've got another class scheduled for Tuesday, Feb 2nd. The fee is $10 which
we need to have paid upfront to hold your place. Just call the store to pay
by credit card or come by to use cash or check. The class is held from
6:30-8:30pm. We grind grain, make bread, pizza, cheesesticks, cinnamon rolls
and more. It's hands-on fun! Let us know if you'd like to come. Invite your
husband or friends to come with you!
BITHELL FARMS FRUIT AND FISH SALE: It's time again for the truck to come from
Bithell Farms in Oregon. They have the best tasting berries and fruit we have
ever had the pleasure of tasting. These berries are what we use to make our
tastee jams. They are individually frozen for easy serving. They come in 14
lb. boxes. They are offering fish this spring also. Please take a look at the
website to see if anything interests you. Go to www.tasteoflifestores.com
[2], click in the right margin on "link to order Bithell fruit". Log on to
that website and you'll see the list in the left margin. Because we need to
pay for this fruit when I place the order, I must receive prepayment in the
form of cash or check. I'm sorry but I can make no exceptions in this. The
deadline for ordering and prepaying is February 20th. They will come again in
August. Let us know if you have any questions.
GRAIN SALE TIME: It's also time to order your grain, flour, flakes, grits,
etc. from Montana milling. This will be delivered April 17th. This is the
time to buy all the miscellaneous grains that I can't stock throughout the
year. I'm extremely happy to say that most of the grains have come down in
price! Yeah! If you'd like to learn how easy it is to eat more healthy whole
grains, please sign up for a bread class in time to order your grains.
Montana Milling will come again in October, so order accordingly. Please go
to www.tasteoflifestores.com [3], click on "link to Bithell fruit and grain
orders" in the right margin. Log on to that website and you'll see the list
in the left margin. As with the fruit sale, I must receive prepayment for
your grain order before the deadline and in the form of cash or check only. I
cannot make any exceptions in this and I really appreciate your
understanding.
Wowser, my fingers are tired of typing. I hope you found something in this
note that interested you. We'll see you all soon.
