[Weekly Newsletter] TASTEE NEWS: special orders, classes & more

Hi Everyone,

I'm enjoying my weekend, I hope you are too. When it's colder like today, don't you feel like eating more? We enjoyed our carnitas pork burritos today for lunch. Joseph made a homemade salsa with those lovely garden fresh tomatoes. Yup, it was all good! I really wanted some gumbo for lunch but.... it all sold out, so I'll guess we'll wait for next weekend. There were about 25 families that got to enjoy our gumbo this week but it sold out so fast. Joseph has it on the production line again by Wednesday so Thursday, Friday and Saturday come in for more gumbo.

We have got quite a number of items on our special order list. Have you checked out the website yet on the "link for special orders"? Let me list them below.

BITHELL FRUIT & FISH ORDERS: We received our prices from Bithell Farms. We only have 2 weeks to place our orders so don't delay. We have fruit and frozen fish on the list. We must order by Saturday Sept 26th and then we'll receive shipment by mid to late October. This is your chance to load up for the winter months. Bithell Fruit doesn't come again until the spring. If you've enjoyed making jam or want to start, now is the time to start. Don't forget about your fruit smoothies and baking. I'll need prepayment in the form of cash or check by the deadline of the 26th as well. Go to www.tasteoflifestores.com and then click on "Link for Special Orders". If you haven't registered on that website before then click on the register button. It's pretty simple from there.

PALISADE APPLES: I was able to put an order list for the honey crisp and gala apples. You guys have just loved purchasing them in the store, which I will continue to have. However, if anyone wants to order a case of these wonderful apples, then go to the website and order a case. You can call the store with your credit card number to prepay. Please note though, I need to order these apples by Tuesday evening so you only have 2 days. The sooner the better so that I can start reserving the apple cases.

GRAIN SALE: If you're into grinding your own flour, have you checked out the grain list yet? We've got a couple weeks left yet but don't forget to order. There are also oat flakes and flours, as well as honey and storage pails. Take a look if you haven't yet. You may see something you didn't know was there. Let me know if you have any questions.

OREGON APPLES & PEARS: Last but not least. We have our friends from Oregon coming here mid-October to bring us their lovely apples and pears. The supplies are limited so the sooner we get our order in, the better. This fruit has never been sprayed and are fresh picked. We have been extremely happy with this fruit for the last 7 years.

JAM/SCONE AND BREADMAKING CLASSES: I have a class for jam and scone making this Tuesday, Sept. 15th. I have 2 spaces left. Let me know if you'd like to come. The fee is $18 which includes everything you need for making the jam and scones. I also have a breadmaking class on Thursday, Sept. 17th. I have a couple spots in that class as well. The fee is $10 and it's also a hands-on class and a lot of fun. Both classes are held from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at our kitchen facility in Monument. Let me know if you'd like to sign up.

SALES ARE UP: Thanks so much for supporting our business so beautifully. We ramped up on our milk in big numbers so we should be covered with the popularity of the milk. If we keep getting more and more customers enjoying our milk, we'll just keep ordering more. The bread has been flying off the shelf as well so Annie will start ramping up on numbers. The challenge of a grocery store is balancing the numbers of perishable items so we don't overstock but not skimp too much. Thanks for bearing with us with increased business. We love this challenge.

MEAL DEAL: We'll continue our meal deal for another week. If you spend $50, you can choose any frozen ind. entree; spend $75 for a free mid-sized, spend $100 for a free large sized dinner.

Well, as always, thanks for reading. We'll see you in the store.
Oh, please let me know if you are receiving more than one copy of this email. I'll get it fixed post-haste.
