TASTEE NOTE: holiday burger deal, peaches, co-ops, fish & classes

Hello Everyone,

I hope you've all had a wonderful week. Thank you for all your concerns for our Adam. He is recovering nicely. His stitches came out this past Monday however the doctor said he had to take another 2 weeks off from work. No heavy lifting to give his hand time to fully heal. So, Ron continues to cover our deliveries and all is getting handled nicely.
We're anxious for Adam to come back to work though. Again, thanks for your questions of concern for him.

I see that you all loved our fresh local produce. Once I emailed last Thursday, we couldn't keep our shelves filled. We appreciate your shopping with us. I hope you agree that the tomatoes, corn, peaches and apples were amazing. We'll get another full shipment this coming Thursday evening. I'm expecting more of the honey crisp apples and the best corn in Colorado. Remember, we always carry organic so the nutritional value is superior to any farmer's market produce. I asked our farmer how long we can expect to receive his wonderful produce. He said as long as the frost stays away. I know what I'm praying for!

Oh, they offer cases of canner peaches if anyone is interested. These peaches are just a little less than perfect, maybe a few marks on the skin, but wonderful still the same. The cost is $20 for 20 lbs. I must hear from you by Tuesday if you want a case, and then it is subject to availability. But we can keep asking each week as he brings more in.

NOW THE PALISADE PEACHES: We received shipment of our palisade peaches. They are absolutely gorgeous! They are about the size of softballs. If you preordered, you can pickup tomorrow morning as early as 8 am. We need all of you to pickup by closing on Tuesday. I have 5 extra boxes. The cost is $39.00 for the 25-28 lb. case. We'll assign these to the first 5 people to respond. I think these will be gone very quickly so don't delay. I ordered 2 cases of peaches to be sold per lb.
in the store. Shop early!

NEW COFFEE: We have a new Serranos Coffee. Mocha Java. It passes the Joseph/Ron test. Give it a try.

FISH SALE CLOSES ON WEDNESDAY NOON: Have you ordered your fresh fish yet? We've got King salmon and silver coho salmon, halibut, cod, tuna and scallops listed. The deadline is coming and I really need prepayment in cash or check by Wednesday noon. Thanks for your help with this. You'll have your fish in time for Labor Day weekend. Pickup will be this Friday and Satuday. To order, go to www.tasteoflifestores.com and click on the link in the right margin "LINK TO SPECIAL ORDERS". Then log on or register to log on and place your order.

LABOR DAY HOURS: We will be open on Saturday our normal hours of 9 am to 6 pm. We will be closed on Sunday. We'll also be closed on Monday in observance of Labor Day, then open again on Tuesday.

LABOR DAY WEEKEND BURGER DEAL: We have quite a few cases of 1/4 lb.
burger patties of our wonderful Verity Farms beef. We will be selling these 16 lb. cases of burgers at a sale price of $4.85 per lb. This is a total of 40% off of the regular retail price. It's a great time to stock up. However, if you just want to purchase two 4/packs of ground beef patties plus one pkg of our 8 count hamburger buns, the price is only $12.30. So for $12.30 you'll have 8 burgers and 8 buns. If you'd like to take advantage of this deal, either the 16 lb. case or the burger/bun deal, it would be a good idea to _call the store_ and put in an order. This offer is while supplies last. No prepayment necessary but we had better set aside orders or you won't be assured of getting them. We need to give Annie some time to get these buns baked, so we'll arrange for pickup on Friday and Saturday.

FALCON and CASTLE ROCK CO-OP: I have the co-op price lists on my old website for easy ordering. Just go to www.tasteoflifestores.com and in the right margin, click on "LINK TO SPECIAL ORDERS". Just log on or register to log on and then click on the co-op list of your choice.
I've got the Colorado produce listed on this as well but don't wait until the last minute to order as the produce really sells quickly.
We'll deliver to Castle Rock on Wednesday Sept. 9th and to Falcon on Thursday Sept. 10th. Let me know if you have any questions but instructions are listed on the ordering page.

BREADMAKING AND JAM/SCONE CLASSES: I had a couple cancellations for this Thursday's breadmaking class, Thursday, Sept. 3rd from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. I also have 2 spots open in the jam/scone class for Thursday, Sept 10th, 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Then I've got spots available in another breadmaking class on Sept. 24th. Let me know if you're interested.

JAM JARS: Just a thought. For those of you that are purchasing our jam; would you be interested in returning the empty jam jars? As the jars increase in price, it will be helpful to have jars returned so I can keep the price the same. If you have the ring part of the lid, that would be helpful too. Thanks.

Whew..... what a lot of news. I'm tired of typing! And just think; we haven't even begun to talk about the Oregon apples, grain sale and Bithell fruit order that is right around the corner. Oh, but wait.
Then we'll be thinking turkeys already for Thanksgiving! Hold on, we're in for a whirlwind!!!!

Thanks for reading, and see you soon!
