Hi Everyone,
Let me start with the good news.
Monument store has some lovely chocolate and plain cheesecake slices for sale. This makes a lovely Father's Day treat. First come, first serve. I've got about 10 slices of each variety left. You can call ahead if you want to have us save some for you. We'll take your credit card over the phone if you'd like us to set any back for you. They stay fresh for about a week. It's the creamiest, smoothest cheesecake I've ever had. The price is $4.50 each.
DEADLINE FOR BITHELL FRUIT ORDERS: Tomorrow (Saturday) is the deadline to order and prepay for your fruit order. Call Monument if you have any questions. 487-2858, #1
CREPES: Remember, Blandine will be in Monument between 9 a.m. and 12 noon tomorrow (Saturday). Don't miss this amazing treat of fresh made-to-order crepes, both sweet and savory. She has a gluten-free variety too. I'll have extra tables set up outside to enjoy our beautiful weather and give us more room in our small little store!
MILK SPECIAL: From 12 noon today (or as soon as Adam arrives with our milk delivery), I'm selling about 9 gallons of skim and 12 gallons 1% at $3.00 per gallon. Only this amount of each will be sold at this price.
Little perk for early birds! We have extra coming in and I'd rather know they are selling quickly. Our milk is coming in fresh this morning so we'll be stocked in every variety you need.
OKAY, NOW THE SAD NEWS. Our Falcon store is now closed. We are extremely sorry to see this location go away. We have tried holding on as long as we could, but the sales are just not what we need to keep the doors open. Well, in this case, the sales weren't high enough to keep the lights on. Our landlord was being extremely flexible and working with us, but the electric company finally said, it's time to shut us down. Ron and the boys have worked hard yesterday and today emptying our freezer and cooler to bring all the product to Monument. We will miss our new friends and customers out in the Falcon area. For those that shopped with us, we have enjoyed serving you and hope that we can see you in Monument.
We've been thinking of an idea to continue serving families in the eastern area. We are currently operating a co-op style buying "club" in Castle Rock and we wondered if anyone in Falcon/Peyton would like that sort of situation as well. A co-op is how my business started in the first place and with this economy, it seems like a good way to stay in business. That's why we've been doing all these special orders asking for preorders and prepayments. With cash flow being so tight, it just makes sense to order and prepay; then we receive shipment and distribute.
So, if anyone finds it inconvenient to come and shop in Monument, we could arrange a delivery to Falcon every other week, or if the demand is high enough, we could come once a week. That way you can get your milk products too. I'll have a separate ordering list for Falcon which you can use to place your order; we'll become your personal shoppers and gather your groceries and dinner entrees; we'll deliver your groceries in our refrigerated truck which you meet and pickup. I'm sure we could find a church parking lot in the area that wouldn't mind us being there for a couple of hours. We could offer free delivery if the orders meet a minimum amount. Let me know if this interests you. Please reply to this email and I'll start a list of people which I'll contact directly and see where to go from there.
Again, we'll miss being in Falcon. You guys have such a lovely community. Ron will especially miss being out there. Michelle, Heidi, Amanda and RJ have enjoyed serving you as well. We do hope to see you in Monument. We'll still be there and let's just pray that this economy starts to turn around. We know we're not the only family out there that has been struggling. Soooo many people are feeling the hardships of this time.
Thanks for reading. Come and see us soon.
